On my search to a nice activity tracker, I compared different watches like the Vivofit, Polar watch, Fitbit,… None of them are the same, but in every brand it comes to this: when you pay more, you get more features.
But for me, I wasn’t about the features. I just wanted to have a watch with a pedometer and an option to register my heartbeat while running. I had two very important options in my mind:
- I don’t like to charge my watch every night (or every couple of days)
- I will use the watch as a real watch, so I don’t want to push a button to see the time
With these priorities in my mind, the Garmin Vivofit suited best for me. It has a battery life of 1 year! Didn’t see any other watch with such a battery life. Secondly, you can always see the time without pushing a button. For saving battery, the display fades out when your wrist doesn’t move for some time (like while you are sleeping, watching television,…). But as soon as you move your wrist (which you always do when checking time), the display fades in so you can see the time.
The choice is yours, but if you want a real watch which doesn’t need to be charged every day, the Garmin Vivofit fits perfectly.
